26-01-2016 | London Regeneration Fund successes
We Made That are delighted to have assisted with some ambitious bids to the London Regeneration Fund, having contributed to securing £6m of funding. Projects include;
- Fashioning Poplar: £1.8m to convert a number of underused garages and surrounding land into a new fashion hub, which will include a garment manufacturing unit and incubation space for designers. The scheme, led by housing association Poplar HARCA, will help to provide skills and training opportunities in the local community and is being led in conjunction with the London College of Fashion, University of the Arts London.
- Beddington incubator space: pilot a new approach to working with landowners and businesses through a range of interventions to reconfigure and unlock land for economic activity and intensify industrial areas.
- Blackhorse Lane ‘Creative Enterprise Zone’: actions to grow, maintain and strengthen the creative offer already establishing itself in Blackhorse Lane.
- Erith: supporting new town centre uses, training and work opportunities and resolving connectivity issues currently blighting the town.
All the projects aim to re-energise the capital’s places of work and high streets.

26-01-2016 | Working in Walworth
We Made That have been appointed by LB Southwark to guide and develop projects in East Street, Walworth and Old Kent Road. Interventions will include public space improvements, re-occupation of vacant units for flexible workspace, improvements to key buildings, meanwhile activity and a new layout for East Street Market. All are helping to knit together gaps between development sites.
We are working with long-standing collaborators Maddison Graphic. Our team will also be working closely with local groups and organisations to catalyse and deliver great projects.

Practice Manager/ Administrator (Part time)
We are seeking an enthusiastic and ambitious Practice Manager for our small, growing architecture and urbanism practice. Our projects are diverse and as such, the position of Practice Manager is likely to be an extremely varied role which will include Office Management, HR and Financial Management.
We expect the position to be part time, with an initial commitment of three days per week. There will be flexibility in expected working hours/ days for the right candidate.

08-10-2015 | Open Spaces in Chicksand East Estate
We Made That have been commissioned by the London Borough of Tower Hamlets to produce an estate design plan for the Chicksand East Estate in Whitechapel. We will be working with residents to guide future investment in the open spaces around the estate.
06-10-2015 | Brixton Economic Action Plan Workshops
Regeneris Consulting and We Made That are hosting a series of workshops to develop an Economic Action Plan for Brixton. These targeted sessions with young people, businesses, social entrepreneurs, cultural groups and landowners will shape a concise set of recommendations to support equitable growth in the future of Brixton’s economy.

Islington Council are currently running a series of public consultations alongside We Made That to gain views on the developing public realm masterplan proposals. The team will be out and about with the Central Street Cycle, at the following times and locations:

We are delighted to receive a New London Award for our Blackhorse Lane project. The Panel awarded the Mayor’s Prize for its ‘inventive and resourceful strategy that works with the strengths of the area - its businesses and its culture of craftsmanship - to create opportunities for new jobs and enterprise, alongside new housing. The project is a blueprint for how industry can play a productive role in future mixed-use development.’
We’ve been supported by a wide team, including; Europa, the Architecture Foundation, Momentum, Stockdale, Wolfram Wiedner, Thomas Adank, Assemble, Blackhorse Workshop, Chris Bracey (God’s Own Junkyard) in the delivery of the project to date.

We are delighted to have been shortlisted in the New London Awards 2015. Our Croydon South End scheme with HASSELL and Objectif for LB Croydon is shortlisted in the public spaces category, and our Blackhorse Lane project for LB Waltham Forest is shortlisted for Masterplans & Area Strategies as well as the Mayor’s Prize for projects that creatively contribute to the capital’s economy.
The winners will be announced at an event on 7th July.

As part of a team with Regeneris Consulting, We Made That are leading the business engagement and observational mapping across the whole borough. This initiative aims to understand different perspectives on doing business in Waltham Forest, including strengths, weaknesses, and future opportunities and challenges. Our research team is engaging businesses in this conversation throughout April and May 2015.
This research will help the development of practical actions to ensure that the local economy evolves in a way which allows the Borough’s businesses and communities to flourish and grow.
We’re inviting people to participate in an initial fact-finding survey to gain a quick and accurate overview of current local business conditions and needs.

We Made That are working with Regeneris Consulting to develop an Economic Action Plan for the London Borough of Lambeth. Our work will aim to maximise economic and employment opportunities for local people and local businesses as Brixton changes.

We Made That will be working with Loughborough University Arts on the ambitious ‘Market Town’ project in 2015. Alongside an exciting team of other practices including Something & Son and Kathrin Bohm, the project will deliver a programme of commissions and critical debate that will focus on the regeneration of the high street in the Town.

Oliver and Holly have been appointed to the Greater London Authority’s Specialist Assistance Team (SAT) – a team of expert advisers appointed to help with the shaping and realisation of Mayoral projects across the capital. They will advise on three specific aspects; Project set up, Community Capacity and Building Improvements in the delivery of the vision set out in the Mayor’s Action for High Streets.
