Under the ‘Bathing Beauties’ project, We Made That were commissioned to deliver a unique beach hut for the Lincolnshire Coast. Chosen in open international competition in September 2006 amongst a series of new huts intended to provide distinctive attractions for hire amongst the existing coastal terraces, the project gives a much needed boost to the local tourist economy.
Within an inconspicuous, black hideaway the hut’s indulgent interior and Canoodling Bench invites hours spent in the company of an intimate companion. An upholstered seat above provides a space for solitary contemplation, proposed and designed as a place for gazing. With a view uninterrupted by the activity beyond it is ideal for cultivating middle-distance-thought year round.
